On 10/11/03, I had an incredible experience. I was one of 12 drummers chosen to play on stage with Shania Twain and her incredible band. The whole day was fantastic. Thirty drummers were chosen to audition. My long time friend Tom Bleyl and I were the first two picked during auditions.
We personally met most of her band and had a lengthy discussion with (Shania's drummer) JD Blair. EVERYONE was very cool! I did not get to meet Shania, but she was hanging around us (being mom to her 2 year old) off stage, while we were on stage rehearsing with her band. She seems very down to earth away from the cameras. Her husband, the famous producer Mutt Lang, was there too and sat right behind us at the sound board during the show. I'm spoiled now and I hope The VeLMAs hit it big soon. Playing in front of 17,000 people is just amazing. I had an incredible time while on stage and was seen on the big screens a few times. The show itself was outstanding. These people really know how to do it. I'll get some more pics up on the site when I have them.
Bruce

It still hasn't quite sunk in yet. What an amazing surreal experience!!!

I agree that Shania's band was very cool, as were all of the drummers we met. (GROUP 2, BABY!!!) She puts on a fantastic show - big lights, sound and pyro with lots of energy and excitement, but still very much in touch with her fans.

I remember looking over at Bruce onstage when we were supposed to be clicking the backbeat and I saw him bustin' a move, pointing to the crowd, sticks twirling everywhere! Only Bruce! AWESOME!!

Ah, I finally have a good story to tell my grandkids!

Bleyl

VeLMAs ROCK!

Bruce are God. Did I ever tell you that?

Next time, slip her my phone number. Come on, hook a fellow Sheik up. She is coming in April down here. I may go.
