Ok,
this was not a clinic, but a competition hosted by Guitar Center in Albany, NY. GC is a national chain of music stores and every fall they have a 'Drum Off'. You have to perform a three minute solo in front of a
panel of judges. There are 4 rounds. I won the first round in my area store. So that makes me the NY Capital Area winner. The District Round is in Manhattan on November 8th. I will be competing in the same format against drummers from all around the North East. Whoever wins that goes to the Regional and then the Finals. I'm glad I made it past the first round. I performed with some really great sounding drummers last night, so it wasn't easy! Bottom line though: It was just a ton of fun. Guitar Center did a wonderful job hosting it. Well, wish me luck in Manhattan!
